The information emerges thanks to Technogym Checkup, the innovative AI-based assessment station that evaluates physical, cognitive, and functional parameters—including body composition, cardiovascular capacity, strength, balance, flexibility, and mental speed—and translates these indicators into a single summary value, the Wellness Age.

Analyses carried out on a large sample of Technogym employees participating in the corporate wellness program consistently show that higher levels of physical exercise are associated with a lower Wellness Age than chronological age.
In addition, research carried out by the University of Urbino Carlo Bo provides an in-depth analysis of the overall health of the Technogym workforce. The data shows that the latter is very healthy both in absolute terms and in relation to the national average: 95% of employees have a body mass index below 30 kg/m², the reference value for the classification of obesity; in 2026 in Italy, on the other hand, approximately 46% of the population is overweight or obese (Istituto Superiore di Sanità).

At the same time, a very low percentage of Technogym employees, between 5% and 7%, have blood pressure values compatible with hypertension. Nationally, a total of 31% of the Italian population is hypertensive and 17% is borderline, for a total of 48% (Istituto Superiore di Sanità).
The estimated maximum oxygen consumption (VO2 max) values, indicative of cardiovascular fitness, are above average compared to the normative parameters for the non-athletic population stratified by age and gender, highlighting good aerobic capacity in line with the anthropometric and clinical indicators measured.

Physical exercise is associated not only with better health parameters, but also with significant organizational outcomes: more active employees report higher work performance scores even after considering potentially confounding variables such as age, gender, body mass index, and the presence of chronic conditions. There is also a tendency for sick leave hours to decrease as levels of physical exercise increase, along with lower levels of work-related stress and higher perceived work performance.
